“Most of our systems are back up and running,” said Cass Regional CEO Chris Lang.
The hospital’s Meditech EHR, which was taken offline shortly after the attack was found , will remain shut down until third-party cyber forensic experts complete their investigation. Currently, authorities believe they removed the virus from the organization’s systems.
As of the July 11 update — which was posted around 4 p.m. — hospital leaders estimate the EHR will be back online within 24 to 48 hours. It continues to be on ambulance diversion for trauma and stroke patients until the EHR is functional.
