According to admissions made in accordance with his plea, Mr. Tucker carried out several attacks against numerous city websites, including one that shut down Madison’s internet-connected emergency communication system, “causing delays and outages in the ability of emergency responders to connect to the 911 center and degrading the system used to automatically dispatch the closest unit to a medical, fire, or other emergency.”
The FBI’s Milwaukee and Phoenix field offices assisted Arizona’s Public Safety Department in the investigation, which identified Mr. Tucker as a suspect after he bragged about his attacks on social media.
In addition to receiving a prison sentence, Mr. Tucker was ordered to pay over $69,300 in restitution to the victims of his attacks.
