Cybersecurity startup AttackIQ cinches $8.8M in Series A funding

San Diego-based startup AttackIQ has completed its first round of financing.

AttackIQ raised $8.8 million in its Series A equity financing round, including funds from Index Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and Telstra Ventures. AttackIQ helps healthcare, biotechnology and other organizations measure the effectiveness of their security infrastructure using continuous security validation. The startup’s FireDrill platform identifies how well security tools, products and processes are working to determine baseline readiness and gaps in defenses.

AttackIQ will use this funding to expand its sales and marketing initiatives along with its strategic services and engineering teams.
