The joint venture, headquartered in Holyoke, Mass., will offer monitoring and management of IT networks, telephony, clinical engineering support and other IT-related consulting and engineering expertise to local healthcare organizations. Currently, the joint venture has 150 clients. It aims to offer a specific health IT skill set that independent practices may not be able to afford, Steve Shaw, baytechIT’s executive vice president, said in a statement.
“While we’re rooted in technology, baytechIT focuses on how to make IT useful and valuable to our clients. Rather than seeing IT as a cost or an imposition, we want to make it an invaluable asset woven into the fabric of a medical practice,” baytechIT President Patrick Streck said in a statement.
VertitechIT, a provider of health IT engineering and consulting services, has served as a senior consultant to Baystate Health since 2014.
