One patent application details the “system and methods for environmental sensing,” the report notes. Apple said the device would be used to detect spoiled food food, body odor and smells beyond toxic gases.
It notes in the patent application that the device could “measure compounds in human sweat and alert the user about his sugar levels.”
The other patent was for a “compact particulate material sensor” for detecting pollution, CNET reports.
