Amazon's cloud business, Nvidia hiring people who can network with health investors

Two top tech companies — Amazon Web Services and Nvidia — are looking to hire individuals skilled at networking with healthcare venture capitalists, CNBC reports.

Nvidia is specifically looking for those with ties to Venrock, which it specifically cites in its job posting. AWS, on the other hand, doesn't list any VC by name, but instead lets the candidate determine the "appropriate VCs to target."

But why is big tech looking into healthcare-focused venture capitalists? Perhaps to build relationships with investors and their portfolio companies to inform early decisions on artificial intelligence chips or services, according to CNBC.

"What's different today is that they recognize that healthcare is roughly a fifth of the [gross domestic product] and they need a specific strategy to grow quickly in this sector," Venkat Mocherla, director of business development and marketing at Qventus, a health tech startup, told CNBC.
