AMA invests $15M to open Silicon Valley healthcare innovation company

The American Medical Association will become the founding partner of Health2047, a Silicon Valley integrated innovation company.

The AMA is investing $15 million in the company, which will focus on finding to solutions to some of healthcare’s biggest challenges. The AMA will offer Health2047 its expertise in medical issues, health policy and more.

“Our investment in Health2047 tangibly underscores the AMA’s ongoing commitment to innovation and collaboration in healthcare. This dynamic new environment will include the physician perspective in every major innovation cycle, ensuring that physicians play a greater role in leading changes that will move health care forward,” said AMA CEO and executive vice president James Madara, MD.

Health2047 is a standalone, for-profit company.
