Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center is introducing a new update to its DAX Copilot tool aimed at enhancing user experience and improving the quality of clinical documentation.

The update, called specialty optimization, will allow the AI-powered system to generate notes tailored to specific medical specialties such as neurology and cardiology, according to an April 22 news release.

By adapting documentation to match the language, format and clinical focus of different fields, the update is expected to improve efficiency for clinicians and increase the clarity of patient records.

DAX Copilot, a product of Nuance — a Microsoft company — integrates ambient listening technology to help physicians automatically generate clinical notes during patient encounters.
