Columbus-based OhioHealth is expanding Abridge’s AI-powered clinical documentation platform to thousands of ambulatory clinicians after a pilot showed a 59% drop in cognitive load and a 28% decrease in after-hours note writing.
The platform was initially deployed in primary care, women’s health and neurology. OhioHealth now plans to roll it out across all ambulatory specialties, including oncology, heart and vascular, surgery, acute care and graduate medical education.
The health system is also evaluating the tool for potential use in nursing, emergency medicine and inpatient care.
OhioHealth said in a Dec. 10 news release that the technology aims to reduce administrative strain and support care delivery for the 1.6 million patients it serves annually across more than 200 ambulatory sites.
