Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham plans to expand Care Connect, its AI-powered virtual primary care platform, to all insured patients in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, NPR reported.
The academic health system rolled out Care Connect in September, offering patients 24/7 virtual primary care triaged by an AI chatbot.
“Launched as part of our AI innovation roadmap, Care Connect uses conversational and predictive AI to expand access to primary care,” Jane Moran, chief information and digital officer of Mass General Brigham, told Becker’s for a Dec. 30 story. “By shifting from experimental AI to practical, workflow-embedded AI, we are redefining how patients connect with our care teams — quickly, accurately, and with a personal touch.”
Mass General Brigham intends to extend the availability of the program in February, according to the Jan. 9 NPR story. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai, Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health, Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare and Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic are among the health systems with similar offerings.
