Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System has implemented artificial intelligence tools designed to reduce physician screen time and improve clinical workflows.

The health system trained nearly 480 clinicians on DAX Copilot as part of its enterprise rollout. The tool, now integrated into Dragon Copilot, captures patient-provider conversations and generates draft notes directly within Epic’s electronic health record system, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

In August, the health system launched Wave 2 of Epic’s early-adopter program for ambient orders to further streamline workflows and reduce administrative burdens.

Chief Medical Informatics Officer Dr. Matthew Zimmie said the AI-enabled tools are helping decrease cognitive burden and improve work-life balance for clinicians.
