The American Hospital Association has compiled a number of resources for providers to protect their organizations on the cyber front in a new website. These include a series of audiocasts that touch on topics related to hospital cybersecurity, from how to respond to a data breach to what providers need to know about growing threats like ransomware.
“[C]ybersecurity is more than just an IT issue — it requires an organization level risk reduction and response plan, leadership support and board oversight, and vigilance from everyone with access to the network,” Richard Pollack, president and CEO of the AHA, wrote in a post announcing the website on the organization’s blog. “Getting involved in sharing information opportunities is crucial to staying ahead of emerging cybersecurity risks.”
Additional features of the site include tools for gap analysis, tips and opportunities for information sharing and background on important policy and legislation on healthcare cybersecurity.
