The study surveyed over 200 healthcare C-suite executives with more than half of the respondents identifying as CIOs.
The overall perception of HIEs amongst respondents was positive. Forty-two percent believed that HIEs will improve patient outcomes, and 67 percent believed they would increase patient accessibility. Seventy percent of respondents claimed to be planning HIEs despite concerns of over high start-up costs and insufficient funds.
