4 hashtags to follow during National Health IT Week

This year’s National Health IT Week, an annual celebration to raise awareness of the value of health IT, is slated for Oct. 8-12, and the Health Information and Management Systems Society is preparing leaders to participate online.

Throughout the week, professionals across the U.S. are encouraged to post inspiring stories and activate policymakers on social media networks to gain insight into the state of health technology and foster a collective idea that technology can enrich lives.

Here are four hashtags health IT professionals should keep tabs on during the weeklong event, according to HIMSS:

1. #NHITweek. Post anything related to National Health IT Week here, the online home of the event.

2. #HITworks. Use this hashtag to find out how healthcare organizations are embracing IT advancements to improve clinical outcomes.

3. #IHeartHIT. Read personal stories of how health IT has supported end users.

4. #GovHIT. Connect and collaborate with experts and colleagues on healthcare public policy initiatives.
