For the IT leadership survey, Harvey Nash and KPMG asked nearly 4,000 CIOs and technology leaders across 84 countries about their attitudes toward various aspects of their careers, including budget, technology and workforce priorities.
Here’s how 17 industries stacked up when CIOs were asked whether their base salary had increased within the past year:

2. Business and professional services: 54 percent
2. Construction and engineering: 54 percent
4. Charity and nonprofit: 52 percent
5. Financial services: 50 percent

7. Manufacturing and automotive: 49 percent
7. Power and utilities: 49 percent
Global average: 46 percent
9. Pharmaceuticals: 45 percent
10. Transport and logistics: 43 percent
11. Education: 42 percent
12. Oil and gas: 41 percent
13. Retail: 40 percent
14. Healthcare: 38 percent
15. Broadcast and media: 36 percent
16. Telecommunications: 31 percent
16. Government: 31 percent
