1st dictation-based EHR achieves MU certification

The ONC’s Certified Health IT Product List now includes a dictation-based EHR, unlike any other on the list, developed by Medical Mime.

The EHR uses speech recognition and natural language software to process notes physicians input verbally, which has been shown to be faster and easier, accord to a news release from Rennova Health, parent company of the developer.

Products that make the list are certified by Drummond Group, a third party independent testing service. Inclusion on the ONC’s list signifies the tools are capable of meeting security and interoperability standards, in addition to meaningful use requirements.
