Yale New Haven Health (Conn.) has shared restructuring plans that could affect up to 38 management and administration positions at the system.

The restructuring comes as the system works to “redefine and consolidate” its leadership team to help drive growth and streamline decision-making, Dana Marnane, director of public relations for Yale New Haven Health, said in a March 21 statement shared with Becker’s.

“Most impacted individuals will have opportunities within the new structure, though their roles may change, and we hope that they will remain with our system,” Ms. Marnane said.

Human resources at the system is working closely on next steps with the affected employees.

News of the restructuring comes after system officials said in late February that a deal to acquire three Connecticut hospitals from Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings had become “impossible” in part due to Prospect’s inability to pay vendors and state and local taxes, and to fund its pension obligations over the last few years.

Yale New Haven Health signed a 2022 deal to acquire Prospect’s Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital, Manchester (Conn.) Memorial Hospital and Vernon, Conn.-based Rockville General Hospital for $435 million. Since then, the two parties have waged legal battles over the sale.
