UConn Medical Center Requesting $475M

The University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington asked the state for $475 million to build a new facility, according to a report by CBS affiliate Eyewitness 3 News.

The new, larger facility would replace the center’s current facility, built in 1973, and would allow for a merger between the center and Hartford Hospital.

The medical center is currently experiencing a $17 million deficit, which is of concern to state legislatures reviewing the proposal, according to the report.
