Here are three things to know about Mr. Stewart.
1. He most recently was vice president of business systems, finance and operations with Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Medical Group.
2. During his tenure with Advocate Medical Group, Mr. Stewart led a staff of 500, responsible for $1.3 billion in gross billing and $1.2 billion in total net revenue, including capitation; and more than $150 million in active accounts receivable, according to a news release. He also played a key role in reducing the number of days in accounts receivable while maximizing collections, and increased total collections per invoice, Presence officials said.
3. Mr. Stewart earned a master’s degree in business administration in finance and marketing, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, both from Carbondale-based Southern Illinois University.
