East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio, has been acquired by 360 Healthcare, which plans to reopen the hospital under its original name in the fall.
Harold Ramsey, president of 360 Healthcare and managing partner of Rising River Capital, is leading the reopening efforts. His immediate priorities include restoring power to the hospital, conducting a comprehensive facility cleansing, and maintaining close coordination with Martins Ferry and Belmont County officials.
“East Ohio is on a clear, controlled path for a professional restart, and we’ve established the direction by working with federal representatives with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid, and with several talented professionals in Columbus, Ohio,” Mr. Ramsey said in a news release. “We are working toward site readiness and the hospital’s formal accreditation.”
The employed physician group is preparing to open offices soon, with the hospital expected to resume general operations this fall. Recruitment is underway to hire providers and key staff, with a job fair scheduled in the near future.
When East Ohio Regional closed in March, more than 400 clinicians and employees lost their positions. Mr. Ramsey is hopeful many of them will return to the facility as it reopens.
“We want to continue the long tradition of providing quality healthcare to the people of Martins Ferry, and to the people here in the Upper Ohio Valley, and we want to do that with the healthcare professionals in the region,” Mr. Ramsay said. “There are a lot of steps we have to take in order to accomplish [those] goals, but we’re going to get there sooner than later.”
