The MNS Supply Chain Network will represent more than $3 billion in annual purchases of supplies and services. The network, which is effective immediately and will be governed by senior executives from the three health systems, will operate as a single entity to identify contracting initiatives that will generate savings and general supply chain efficiency.
MedStar Health CFO Michael Curran said the network will “create concrete avenues for economies of scale and help us to derive significant supply chain savings…that will drive value for all the organizations, their patients and communities,” according to the release.
