Through the center, the five-year grant will help advance cognitive, behavioral and neurobiological research. The grant will also be used for laboratory renovations and to extend faculty and student recruitment.
Kimberly Kirkpatrick, PhD, will be the director of the center and Lester Loschky, PhD, will serve as assistant director.
“The enrichment to our research community is going to be substantial,” Dr. Kirkpatrick told KSAL. “This grant will bring a lot more resources and infrastructure improvements and it will enhance our graduate program. The funding will allow our faculty members to take their research to the next level, which is a big deal.”
The Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence Grant is the largest grant the department of psychological sciences at KSU has ever received.
