Moody’s affirms ‘A1’ rating for Children’s Hospital of Alabama

Moody’s Investors Service affirmed its “A1” rating for Birmingham-based Children’s Hospital of Alabama, affecting $153 million of outstanding revenue bonds.

The rating is supported by Moody’s expectation that the hospital will continue to generate high operating margins and maintain strong liquidity and low leverage. However, the rating also acknowledges the hospital’s dependency on Medicaid during a time of high uncertainty for the program.

The rating outlook is stable.
