Michigan hospital asks county for $7M backing as it seeks federal financing

Dickinson County Healthcare System, a 49-bed hospital in Iron Mountain, Mich., is asking the county to back a $7 million line of credit from the bank as it seeks alternative federal loans, according to The Detroit News.

The county has a legal relationship with the hospital but bears no financial responsibility for the facility.

Brian Bousley, the county’s financial controller, said “We have to do something to keep the hospital.”
