CMS Releases 2013 Home Health Prospective Payment System Final Rule

CMS has updated the Home Health Prospective Payment System rates for calendar year 2013, which translates to a $10 million decrease (0.01 percent) in payments to home health agencies.

The 0.01 percent change reflects the net effect of a 1.3 percent home health payment update, an updated wage index, an update to the fixed-dollar loss ratio and a case-mix coding adjustment intended to offset coding changes unrelated to changes in patient health needs.
