Reps Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) and Pete Olson (R-Texas) were the lead authors of the letter and circulated it to the chairs and highest-ranking Democrats of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee.
The House members oppose MedPAC’s June recommendations, which call for a multiple procedure payment reduction of 50 percent of CT, MRI, ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging services given to the same patient on the same day in the same place, according to an American College of Radiology news release.
