The health system said it signed an agreement with the Kings to dedicate 18,000 square feet of space in the team’s practice center adjacent to the arena for the clinic.
The facility at the Golden 1 Center, which is currently under construction, will focus on diagnosis and treatment of injuries related to sports or recreational activities, according to the report.
The new clinic will also focus on correcting athletic performance and training to prevent injuries, as well as early intervention treatments. It will include a 7,000-square-foot gym and simulated environments to help rehabilitate patients who were injured playing basketball, soccer, football, baseball, golf and running, according to the report.
“Whether you are an elite professional basketball player, a high school student wanting to play at the next level, or just trying to run your first 5k, this will be the place to come to make sure you are performing at your very best,” Jason Brayley, MD, chief of sports medicine for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento and team physician to the Kings, said in the statement.
