Intermountain receives $35M donation toward new children's health system

Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital was gifted $35 million on behalf of Andie and Todd Pedersen for its new children's health system.

Todd Pedersen is the founder and chair of Vivint Smart Home.

"Primary Promise" is the hospital's $600 million initiative to create the nation's model health system for children. Funding will come from Intermountain Healthcare and a community philanthropy campaign through the Intermountain Foundation, according to an Oct. 10 news release.

The Pedersens' donation was announced at Primary Children's Lehi, Utah-based Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Campus, which is halfway through construction and set to open in 2024. The Pedersens' donation will help complete the project.

The health system initiative was announced in 2020, leading to a $50 million donation made by Utah businesswoman Gail Miller and her family.
