The report measured employment, labor income, value added, business output, tax revenue and other economic indicators for Indiana’s hospitals and outpatient centers. Researchers found the healthcare sector employed about 151,000 workers, with almost three-quarters of that total coming from private-sector hospitals.
The report also said for every $1 of direct hospital and outpatient center expenditures, about $0.71 was generated within Indiana’s economy.
