South Carolina House to Expand Telemedicine Program

South Carolina’s House of Representatives has approved a $22.7 billion budget that includes $8 million dedicated to the expansion of the telemedicine program at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, according to a report by The State.

The expansion is a part of a proposal that many Republicans tout as an alternative to providing more low-income people health insurance under Medicaid, as proposed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, according to the report.
