ChartWise Medical Systems, a Wakefield, R.I.-based provider of healthcare clinical documentation improvement software, will unveil its new Risk Adjustment Factor Calculator at the American Health Information Management Association Convention & Exhibit this month in Los Angeles.
Features of the Risk Adjustment Factor Calculator include an algorithm to calculate various CMS and HHS risk adjustment models and the ability to assess chronic conditions, among many others.
"To date, CDI has focused on the inpatient population, using DRGs [diagnosis-related groups] to determine reimbursement, and severity of illness and risk of mortality to identify how sick a patient is," said Jon Elion, MD, founder and CEO of ChartWise Medical Systems.
