IVANS surveyed more than 700 healthcare providers in the United States, and an additional 65 percent of respondents said Medicaid is also fair all or most of the time when it comes to reimbursements.
Commercial payors did not fare well in the survey, though. Sixty-two percent of surveyed providers indicated that commercial payors are not reasonable all or most of the time when it comes to claims.
The survey also found that 39 percent of providers still use paper to submit claims to commercial payors. However, less than 1 percent use paper for Medicare claims, and 11 percent use paper for Medicaid claims, both which were labeled as the “fastest” payors.
