Holy Cross Hospital in Florida gets $7M boost for neurological care

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Holy Cross Hospital received $7 million to extend its neurological treatments, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Holy Cross said the donation will create the Phil Smith ALS and Movement Disorder Clinic. The facility said it will rename its neuroscience institute after Lighthouse Point, Fla.-based auto dealer Phil Smith, who donated $2 million.  

Funds will allow the facility to treat patients with Lou Gehrig’s disease, or ALS, according to the report.
