Wendy Horton, PharmD, is senior vice president and president of adult services at UCSF Health, where she leads the system’s adult academic medical center and acute care hospitals. She joined UCSF Health in 2025 and is advancing care for complex patients, including development of the new Helen Diller Medical Center.
A nationally recognized healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in academic medicine, Dr. Horton previously served as CEO of UVA Health University Medical Center and system COO of UVA Health, overseeing significant growth, expanded access across Virginia and sustained top statewide rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Horton has held senior executives roles at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and UW Health and began her career as a clinical pharmacist. Named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top Women Leaders in 2023, she is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the ACHE Board of Governors and the Vizient AMC CEO Executive Advisory Council. Her experience scaling academic health systems and leading complex hospital operations strengthens the BHC executives Council’s perspective on growth, access and operational excellence.
