Vipin Kamath is vice president and chief of digital operations and chief information officer at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the world’s leading cancer-care and research institutions.
In this role he leads digital operations and information technology in support of MD Anderson’s clinical, research, and education missions. He joined MD Anderson after a nearly two-decade tenure at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, where he served as chief information officer. At Weill Cornell, he helped launch the Weill Business Gateway and Weill Research Gateway, platforms that streamlined administrative and research workflows, and established the institution’s first project management office.
His earlier career included technology roles at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and at information-services firms. He earned an executive MBA in healthcare leadership from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Mumbai. His focus spans large-scale digital operations, IT modernization and the alignment of technology with complex academic-medicine missions.
He brings deep experience managing enterprise systems within nationally ranked academic medical centers. He is recognized for building operational capabilities that support both patient care and research at scale.
