Selene Parekh is an internationally recognized orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, innovator and educator practicing at Rothman Orthopaedics.
He is professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and a visiting research collaborator at the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute at Princeton University. His clinical practice focuses on complex reconstruction, sports injuries, minimally invasive surgery, total ankle replacement, limb salvage, and advanced patient-specific technologies.
Dr. Parekh’s work centers on integrating minimally invasive surgery, artificial intelligence, 3D printing and patient-specific implant technology into clinical practice, and he has helped develop numerous orthopedic technologies in collaboration with engineers, researchers and industry leaders.
An internationally sought-after speaker and educator, he has delivered hundreds of invited lectures across the globe and directs one of the nation’s premier foot and ankle fellowship programs.
With his wife, Zankhna, Dr. Parekh co-founded the Parekh Family Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to musculoskeletal care through humanitarian outreach and education. The foundation conducts charitable surgical missions, hands-on training courses and educational programs primarily in India, and its Global Foot and Ankle Town Halls have connected thousands of surgeons internationally.
He has held numerous leadership positions within the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, contributing to education, membership, humanitarian initiatives, governance, and strategic planning. In recognition of his global humanitarian contributions, Dr. Parekh received the 2026 Pierce E. Scranton Humanitarian Service Award from the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Foundation.
