Saurabh Tripathi joined Ascension in April 2024 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He leads all aspects of finance, including: financial planning and analytics, accounting and financial reporting, financial oversight of tax and treasury functions (cash management and debt management) and insurance businesses. He is also responsible for the revenue cycle, reimbursement, managed care, venture capital and data science functions across Ascension.
Before joining Ascension in 2024, Saurabh served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Highmark Health in Pittsburgh. At Highmark, he led significant growth initiatives, including supporting three acquisitions that positioned the organization as the second-largest integrated healthcare delivery system. Prior to Highmark, he served as Senior Vice President and CFO at Fresenius Medical Care (FMS) and spent more than 17 years in a variety of global roles at General Electric (GE).
Saurabh serves as a board member for Point Park University in Pittsburgh; Trimedx – a medical devices asset management company; R1 RCM (RCM) – a high-tech revenue cycle management company; and a few healthcare startups. He is passionate about coaching, mentoring and investing in early stage, high community impact organizations as part of ST Ventures & Investments. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from National Institute of Technology in India and a MBA degree in finance from University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. He also has a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants [CIMA-operations] certification from London and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has also completed advanced management courses in driving corporate performance at Harvard Business School.
