Robert Winn, MD, is cancer center director of Fox Chase Cancer Center.
A nationally recognized physician-scientist and cancer center leader, he has built his career around advancing cancer discovery while ensuring that scientific progress reaches the patients and communities that need it most. Dr. Winn is an expert in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, lung cancer, cancer disparities, and community-engaged research. Much of his work has centered on translating scientific advances into measurable improvements in outcomes, an approach he characterizes as moving cancer research from bench to bedside to the community.
Before joining Fox Chase, he served as director and Lipman Chair in Oncology at the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has held national leadership roles with the Association of American Cancer Institutes, the American Cancer Society board of directors, and the LUNGevity Foundation board of directors. At Fox Chase, Dr. Winn is focused on strengthening collaboration, access, and impact across Temple Health, Philadelphia, and the surrounding region.
His leadership emphasizes trust and opportunity, reflecting a long-standing commitment to expanding pathways for the next generation of researchers and clinicians.
