Patrick Hwu, MD, leads Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. An internationally recognized tumor immunologist, Dr. Hwu helped pioneer gene-modified T cells and has advanced vaccines, adoptive T-cell therapies and immune resistance research. Before Moffitt, he spent 17 years at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in multiple executives roles, including chair of Melanoma Medical Oncology and Sarcoma Medical Oncology.
