Michael Meneghini, MD

Founder and CEO Indiana Orthopedic Institute

Michael Meneghini is the founder and CEO of the Indiana Orthopedic Institute and has more than 20 years of clinical experience.

Before founding the institute, he served as founder and director of the Indiana University Health Hip and Knee Center. Dr. Meneghini is also chief market development officer for Health Outcomes Performance Company.

He attended the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, graduating magna cum laude in engineering, and earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University in Chicago and a lower extremity adult reconstruction fellowship at Mayo Clinic, where he received the Mark B. Coventry Lower Extremity Adult Reconstruction Award.

Dr. Meneghini holds numerous U.S. patents and has produced innovative designs now in clinical use, including cementless total knee replacement, knee arthroplasty revision metaphyseal cones, primary and revision hip arthroplasty systems, and an outpatient same-day discharge risk stratification algorithm.

He achieved the academic rank of professor in 2020 and has authored more than 225 peer-reviewed journal articles along with numerous book chapters. He is an invited national and international speaker and a member of the Knee Society and the Hip Society.

Dr. Meneghini serves on the executive boards of the International Orthopedic Education Network and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, where he served as president during the 2025-2026 term.
