Maureen Sintich is executive vice president and chief nurse and advanced practice provider executive for Inova Health System in Fairfax, Virginia.
She leads nursing and advanced practice provider practice across Inova’s clinical enterprise, including the system’s nursing professional practice team and the chief nursing officers of its hospitals.
A board-certified nurse executive and women’s health nurse practitioner, Dr. Sintich brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in academic medical centers and integrated health systems. She has led major initiatives in workforce strategy, Magnet designation, high reliability, quality and safety, professional governance, patient experience, and care model innovation.
Under her leadership Inova Mount Vernon Hospital earned Magnet designation in 2022, along with six exemplars for top performance.
Before joining Inova in 2017, Dr. Sintich served as senior vice president and network chief nursing officer for Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey.
Earlier she spent 14 years with Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, including five years as vice president of operations and system CNO.
She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of South Alabama.
Her work reflects a sustained focus on nursing excellence, a culture of inquiry, caregiver well-being and the creation of supportive practice environments, and she has contributed to published nursing research on nurses’ perceptions of caring at work.
