Matthew Rim serves as chief pharmacy officer at Northwestern Medicine, the academic health system anchored in Chicago.
In this role he leads pharmacy strategy and operations across the system, building on prior responsibility as system director of ambulatory pharmacy services.
He earned his doctor of pharmacy from Western University of Health Sciences and a master of science from the University of Utah, where he completed a two-year health-system pharmacy administration residency at University of Utah Health. Dr. Rim is active in the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists, where he has chaired the council’s Specialty Pharmacy Network. He has contributed extensively to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists as an educational programming reviewer, mentor, content expert, moderator and speaker, and has served as a senior consultant for ASHP Consulting Services.
A fellow of ASHP, he is recognized for expertise in ambulatory and specialty pharmacy and in health-system pharmacy administration.
His leadership reflects a focus on advancing integrated pharmacy services across a large academic system.
