Julie Sprengel is president and CEO of the California Region of CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the United States.
She oversees a vast delivery network stretching roughly 650 miles across the state, encompassing nearly 45,000 employees, thousands of physicians, more than two dozen acute-care hospitals and hundreds of ambulatory sites that together serve close to 10 million Californians, including the Dignity Health brand. She brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership and previously led an expanded CommonSpirit division in the Southwest and Southern California before assuming the broader California Region role.
Ms. Sprengel serves as chair of the executive board of trustees of the California Hospital Association and has been recognized for her leadership with honors celebrating her contributions to the field. Her work focuses on coordinating care delivery, access and operations across one of the nation’s most complex regional healthcare footprints, where she is known for managing scale while supporting local communities. Regarded as a leading voice among California’s health system executives and an active contributor to statewide hospital policy and strategy, she reflects CommonSpirit’s mission to serve vulnerable and underserved populations.
