JP Gallagher is president and CEO of Endeavor Health, one of the largest health systems in Illinois, serving more than four million residents across the Chicago area with a workforce of over 27,000. He became CEO of the combined organization in 2022 following the merger that created the system, and he led its 2024 rebranding to Endeavor Health.
Mr. Gallagher previously served as president and CEO of NorthShore University HealthSystem beginning in 2017, where he expanded hospital partnerships and helped develop the Chicago area’s only freestanding orthopaedic and spine hospital. He earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Under his leadership, the system has emphasized clinical integration, academic affiliations and expanded community access.
Recognized for guiding one of the region’s most significant health system combinations, he has focused his tenure on building scale while maintaining a strong community presence.
