John A. Orsini serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Northwestern Medicine, one of the nation’s leading academic health systems, anchored by Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
In this role he leads financial strategy and operations across the system’s hospitals and ambulatory network, with responsibility for financial sustainability, capital planning and service line growth. Mr. Orsini has more than 30 years of healthcare finance experience. He joined the organization in connection with the 2014 merger that brought Cadence Health into Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, where he had served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cadence Health.
Earlier, he was chief financial officer of Presence Health, a 12-hospital Chicago system formed by the merger of Resurrection Health Care and Provena Health, and he held corporate finance and treasury leadership roles at San Diego-based Scripps Health.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Orsini earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Arizona State University. He is a recurring honoree on the lists of hospital, health system and academic medical center chief financial officers compiled by Becker’s Healthcare.
