President and Chief Executive Officer Hillsdale Hospital

Jeremiah “JJ” Hodshire is president and CEO of Hillsdale (Mich.) Hospital, a rural community hospital serving South Central Michigan. He joined Hillsdale in 2010 as director of organizational development, overseeing human resources, staff education, safety, security and governmental affairs before rising to COO in 2019 and taking the helm as president and CEO in June 2020. Before his healthcare career, he spent nearly a decade as undersheriff at the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office and held roles in the court system and in school administration. A passionate advocate for rural hospitals, Mr. Hodshire co-hosts the “Rural Health Today” podcast, a weekly program about healthcare challenges and opportunities facing rural America, and was named the 2022 recipient of the National Rural Health Association’s Louis Gorin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Rural Health. He also received the Baldrige Foundation’s 2026 executives Excellence in Healthcare Award.
