SVP, System Chief Nursing Officer (Enterprise) UF Health

Janice Walker is senior vice president and system chief nursing officer for the University of Florida Health (UF Health) clinical enterprise, where she serves as the nursing expert across the enterprise.

She is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient care while advancing workforce strategy, operational integration, and interprofessional collaboration. Dr. Walker is an experienced chief nursing executive whose career spans acute, post-acute, home care, and hospice settings, with expertise in healthcare operations, regulatory standards, quality and safety, and transformational leadership. She previously served as senior vice president and chief nursing officer for the Southeast region of Advocate Health, providing strategic leadership for nursing across Atrium Health’s operations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.

Earlier, she held system chief nursing and chief operating officer roles at Baylor Scott & White Health and Texas Health Presbyterian in Texas, Freeman Health System in Missouri, Slidell Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, and National Park Medical Center in Arkansas. Dr. Walker is a national speaker on executive career transitions, clinical recruitment and retention, transformational nursing leadership, and driving quality through accreditation, and her published work addresses reducing patient harm, workplace violence, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

She holds a Doctor of Healthcare Administration focused on executive female healthcare leadership from the University of Phoenix, an MBA in healthcare management, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and she is board certified as a nurse executive, advanced.
