Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and Partner, Bay Area Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics

Emeka Nwodim is an orthopedic spine surgeon and partner with the Bay Area Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine division of The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, where he has practiced since 2015.

He serves as vice president and managing partner of the division and sits on the corporate board of The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, where he has chaired the compliance committee since 2019 and previously chaired the infraction committee.
Dr. Nwodim is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and previously served as a consultant in the department of orthopaedics at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry cum laude and his medical degree from Temple University, where he also completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and received the John W. Lachman Award for outstanding performance in orthopaedic surgery. He completed fellowship training in orthopaedic spine surgery at the University of Maryland and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Dr. Nwodim is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Maryland Orthopaedic Association and the Eastern Orthopaedic Association.

His published research spans minimally invasive lumbopelvic fixation for complex sacral fractures, risk factors in hand infections, and biomechanical studies of meniscal repair.
