Mr. David Entwistle serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Stanford Health Care, the flagship adult health system for Stanford Medicine and one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers located in Stanford, California. Since joining Stanford Health Care in 2016, Mr. Entwistle has guided the organization through significant growth, clinical innovation, and the landmark opening of the new Stanford Hospital — a state-of-the-art facility that has become a cornerstone of healthcare excellence in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
Under Mr. Entwistle’s leadership, Stanford Health Care has earned consistent recognition from U.S. News & World Report as the top-ranked hospital in California and a member of the National Honor Roll. The health system has also received The Joint Commission’s Sustainable Healthcare certification and has been recognized with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s Davies Award of Excellence for digital innovation.
A recognized national thought leader on artificial intelligence, digital health innovation, and hospital quality improvement, Mr. Entwistle serves on the boards of Vizient and the California Hospital Association. Prior to Stanford Health Care, he served as CEO of the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics for nine years. He holds a master’s degree in health services administration from Arizona State University.
