Carlos A. Maceda serves as chief supply chain officer and vice president at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where he provides vision and leadership for an integrated supply chain across the organization.
He oversees purchasing, strategic sourcing, value analysis, materials management and mail services for one of the largest academic health systems in the New York City region. Mr. Maceda joined Mount Sinai as a vice president in 2014 and brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare supply chain management. He began his supply chain career in the U.S.
Air Force in the early 1990s and, after leaving the service, entered healthcare as a hospital inventory clerk, subsequently holding a range of strategic and operations management positions at healthcare organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area. He has placed particular emphasis on supporting clinical and nursing staff and on mentoring the next generation of supply chain leaders.
A champion for supplier diversity, Mr. Maceda has worked to expand the use of underrepresented and minority-owned businesses within Mount Sinai’s supply base.
He holds a master of business administration.
